IPV CURATOR ARCHIVE MANAGER

The IPV CURATOR ARCHIVE MANAGER is an entry level out of the box archive management solution.  The optimised feature set. based upon the IPV Curator Media Asset Management System and the IPV Process Engine. is provided as an integrated platform within the ALTO Disk Archive and effectively replaces costly tapebased processes. thereby offering considerable technical and economic benefits.

Using a built-in transcode engine. a frame accurate low resolution proxy is created for every high resolution asset stored in the ALTO archive. Web-based tools provide rapid search and metadata management capabilities with a VTR like browse experience of all the media. all of the time.
Restorations of the parent high resolution assets stored within the ALTO archive are easily managed and monitored via web-based interfaces.  The ALTO Disk Based Content Library provides a scalable flexible and highly secure archive system. The CURATOR ARCHIVE MANAGER transparently controls the archive and restore requests made by users utilising the ALTO
API functionality. Security of the HiRes media is increased as assets are stored behind the firewall on the ALTO.

Ingest & Transcoding
The IPV CURATOR ARCHIVE MANAGER embedded XCode Transcoder creates frame accurate MPEG4 or Windows
Media proxy versions of the incoming HiRes content.  XCode transcode processes are managed by IPV’s
Process Engine. which sets up a watch folder for asset ingest to the Archive and upon High-Res media arrival
determines whether the generation of a proxy is possible. Transcodes can be processed on a comprehensive range of broadcast file formats for both closed and growing files.  Job status notification is available to the user in real time via email or the web
based IPV Device Director.

The IPV CURATOR ARCHIVE MANAGER provides a server and web client side system for asset and metadata management. The proven Curator MAM technology at the core of the system manages the creation and use of low resolution proxies which are shadows of the archived high resolution parent assets. The web client provides the user with enrichment of the assets by
searchable and editable metadata libraries. The core central Curator Server application controls the database of assets. metadata. users and administration of CRUD (Create. Remove. Update. Delete) user privileges.
